First Mathematical Studies Workshop

The First Mathematical Studies workshops run every Monday, starting on the 2nd of October 2017, from 1pm-2pm in the Social Learning Room, in the library. Students can access all the workshop notes from the relevant Moodle page.

Studies students who can not attend are encouraged to attend the First Science Maths Workshop which runs every Tuesday at 5pm and Wednesday at 12pm, or the Maths Proficiency Workshop which runs every Tuesday at 9am, if the appropriate material is being covered.

This is an opportunity for 1st Mathematical Studies students to submit queries, topics and problems for discussion outside of their norrmal tutorials. Problems should be sent to the tutor James O'Malley for discussion. Students are encouraged to contact the tutor in advance of the workshop with material they would like to be covered. All suggestions from students will be treated anonymously. Each week First Studies lecturers will announce the material that will be coveredand the tutor will send a message using Moodle.

All material covered in the workshop is recorded and subsequently posted each week on the Moodle space for the First Mathematical Studies Workshop for students to access. You have to login on Moodle and choose the First Mathematical Studies Workshop page. These notes will be of limited use to students who have not attended the workshop. We encourage students to actively engage in this workshop process. Additional material related to the topics covered will also be posted on the Moodle space along with the class notes.

If you are having problems viewing the Moodle page contact MSC Manager.
